Born
in the heart of the windy city, home and soul of the blues,
Keith Serpa has rhythm and song pulsing through his veins.
Raised on the rich-smoky notes of Chicago's diverse and soulful
scene, Serpa has always been influenced by what surrounded
him. The young artist found an extraordinary musical mentor
in his uncle, the late, great Jim McPherson, who wrote and
played with such legendary acts as Copperhead, Mickey Hart's
High Noon, Jefferson Starship, Joan Baez, and Merl Saunders
to name a few. From these influences, Keith forged his own
powerful and transfixing sound.
For years, audiences have basked in the unique
glow of Serpa's simmering club and coffee house jams. The
raw passion in his lyrics, his infectious rifts, his scatting
vocals all dance in your soul long after a performance.
Enjoy the rich and soul-filled performance
on his new CD Lean Into The Night out on Encouraging Souls
Records. (Listen)
